It represents a character of a story I started to write. Evelyn is from a very rich and strict family, but dreams of liberty. The dove is here to remind of her dreams of freedom. In my story, Evelyn has disappeared, and the main character has to find her. This portrait of Evelyn at the age of 16 is all he have to recognize her. This is supposed to be the real painting of my story ^^
As it is supposed to be a real portrait, I wanted it to have a very "classical look". I tried to mimic a lot old masters as Elizabeth Vigee Lebrun and Adelaïde Labille Guiard.
It took me two weeks, painting each evening after work. I used Gimp Painter : its mixbrush has been very useful, it helps a lot to blend the colours and to bring out new tones !
This piece was also heavily referenced as I'm not good enough yet to work by pure imagination. It helped me to make one step toward realism, which is my aim !

So beautiful! When I saw it on the thumbnail I though it was a photo. Although I think her arms are a little long compared to the whole body, the whole picture is gorgeous. The dress is amazing, and the roses, and the white dove...
Yes, I keep wondering why everyone has immediatly seen this anatomy issue except myself while drawing it. I feel a little blind XD
Sometimes I really want to fix it... Can't decide, shall I "assume" my mistake and go on with other paintings, or shall I try to correct it in order to apply the advices of the comment I've received ?
I think I will fix it. Don't have the time to draw yet, but in a few weeks, I'll give a try ^^
Anyway, thank you very much for your kind comment and for appreciating all the details I've put in there !
Weird wording I know XD
Thank you very much ^o^
